Interfaith appeal for the 2027 United Nations UN Weeks against Racism

We invite everyone to take an active part in the International Weeks against Racism from March 5 through 21, 2027, especially by participating in religious observances. Every contribution matters! Only by standing together can we shape a good present and future.

For a long time now, we have enjoyed peace, freedom, and considerable prosperity in the heart of Europe. This has been and remains possible because many people, both long-established residents and recent newcomers, work together every day to build a successful and harmonious society. Violence, hatred, discrimination, exclusion, every form of racism, and the destruction of the environment threaten not only respectful coexistence but also our prosperity.

As religious communities, we support shared ethical values such as respect, solidarity, and justice. We stand for peaceful coexistence and for respect for human dignity, human rights, nature, and the environment. We value diversity while, on the basis of Germany’s Basic Law, working for unity among all people.

We are grateful for the many religious observances and activities held during the UN Weeks against Racism. We are pleased when people from different religious communities are invited to take part. This makes it visible that religious communities are working together for human dignity and against hatred and incitement.

Join us! Organize religious observances, invite people of different faiths, and participate in the many local activities.
